GST/HST Holiday: Guidelines for Businesses

Following the Canadian government’s announcement of a GST/HST holiday for the period from December 14, 2024, to February 15, 2025, on the sale of certain categories of goods, a bill was adopted to that effect on November 28.

To assist businesses in understanding and applying this GST/HST relief, we inform you that the government recently published guidelines on the following webpage: GST/HST Holiday for the Holidays – Canada.ca.

Please also note that the Quebec government has announced it will not harmonize with this measure. Therefore, the QST will continue to be applied as before.
